Broadway One

Developed by Home Forward and the Urban League of Portland, the Broadway Corridor Affordable Housing development will be a 14-story mixed-used building with 230 affordable units ranging from studios to 3-bedrooms, and will be the first building to begin construction at Broadway Corridor. This new downtown neighborhood is envisioned as a unique, diverse, vibrant, sustainable, mixed-use, dense urban district seamlessly integrated with public transportation.

CPI was awarded the design-assist mass timber contract to come on early and work through constructability and budgeting exercises with the engineer, architect and general contractor. The first two stories will be constructed using cast-in-place concrete, and then the top 12 stories will be Type IV-B mass timber construction, using glulam post-and-beam gravity system supporting CLT floor and roof panels. The design team is also working to incorporate CPI’s Timber Core modular mass timber stair system into the building. Design is currently underway with construction slated to start in 2026.
