Julia West House

Julia West House will be a 12-story mass timber apartment building intended to provide 90 units of affordable housing for senior citizens. The architect and engineer designed the space to strategically expose the mass timber, providing a biophilic and warm interior space for the residents. Other on-site amenities will include a rooftop deck and two community gathering rooms. This site is extremely tight and will require extensive coordination between the GC and subs on-site to meet the build schedule and the fire requirements required for this height of mass timber construction. CPI will be working collaboratively with the GC and the steel erectors to ensure the project stays on budget and schedule, all while maintaining adequate fire protection during construction. CPI is supplying and installing the CLT floors and roof panels, as well as the glulam beam and column structural system. Additionally, CPI provided design-assist services through early award to help bring costs down and value engineer connections and panel design. Once complete, this will be the tallest mass timber structure CPI has built, and the tallest wood structure in Oregon.
